Canyon Lake Art Guild was established as an unincorporated non-profit organization in 1984. In 2021 Canyon Lake Art Guild Texas was granted 501(c)(3) non-profit status as a 509(a)(2) public charity. This means that CLAG TX, as a publicly supported organization, receives more than one-third of its financial support from contributions, membership fees and gross receipts from activities related to its exempt functions and no more than one-third of its financial support from gross investment income.
CLAG TX remains a creative, ongoing presence in the community. Guild members enjoy a range of activities, including but not limited to, demos, paint days, classes, workshops, and field trips. Members take pride in displaying their art in local businesses where every three months the art work and participating artists are rotated. Collaboration with local schools, senior and youth activity centers and other community events are planned. Each year the Guild proudly awards an art scholarship to a graduating high school senior.
Canyon Lake Art Guild Texas welcomes new members from novice to seasoned, no matter the level of the artist or genre. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month, September through May. Visitors are always welcome.
